Allschwil Village Festival 2005

Here is a picture of the heart of our village! We took the kids to the festival today where we browsed the craft stands, played games and listed to music. We topped off the afternoon with an ice-cream cone and a bike ride back home.

See more pictures!

How wonderful to live in a place so rich in culture, and tradition. I think we've lost that here in the great melting-pot of Canada. I think traditions give you a sense of belonging, a tie to a wonderful heritage and past, a more-defined knowledge of who you are.
Your boys are very fortunate... And, the festival looked like a lot of fun. I'm so glad that you had a great day!

You are absolutely right. The only problem I sometimes encounter is, like everywhere else, predjudice. Traditions do give you a sense of belonging...and of not belonging as well.

For many reasons, we decided to raise our family here in Switzerland and not in the USA. Besides being much safer, it is seeped in culture and family values.

Thanks for writing,
Karim
